Statements are abstracts from minutes as adopted by the NLC. Agreements (1941-64) with other bodies fall under the following categories: American Missions, College and University Work, Public Relations, Welfare, Displaced Persons/Refugees, Lutheran World Action. Service Bureau, Washington property, Prisoners of War, and Lutheran World Convention/Lutheran World Federation. Many of these agreements were made with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Indices are included for all materials.

Originally established as a special conference of the Pennsylvania Ministerium in 1812, the Joint Synod petitioned the ministerium to form an independent body in 1817, and in 1818 the first general conference of the synod was held in Somerset, Ohio.
